Celia Hoffman, President
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Running for President is Celia, a third year in the College majoring in Political Science and minoring in Gender and Sexuality Studies. She is currently serving on the Student Government Committee on Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention, has volunteered for Peer Health Exchange throughout college, and has been in a variety of leadership roles at the Institute of Politics. She was the co-president of UChicago Students for Elizabeth Warren, which she started after working as a fellow on the Elizabeth Warren for President campaign in Iowa over the summer of 2019. Passionate about progressive change and fighting for women, Celia previously interned for Planned Parenthood and Congressman Jamie Raskin (D-MD).
Yessica Guadalupe Vargas, VP of Student Affairs
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Yessica Guadalupe Vargas is a third year majoring in Sociology with a minor in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies. She's from the Chicago’s south side and is a proud alumni of her neighborhood high school where she spent her last two years working with local students on their post-secondary plans. She previously served on the Student Support Services (SSS) student advisory council. She has helped to support civic engagement opportunities on campus through leadership roles in Chicago Bound and WPSP+ Engage 2018-19. She currently works in the Urban Education Institute through establishing the Consortium’s first Youth Advisory Circle for the Equitable learning and development project (EL&DP) and is currently a co-host for the podcast Experts through Experience (ETE). The podcast is dedicated to providing a platform for student dialogue on the impact of COVID-19 on the post-secondary journeys of Chicago Public School graduates. Catch her practicing kick-boxing, yoga or writing poetry in her free time!


Ting Ting Shi, VP of Administration
Pronouns: She/her/hers
Ting Ting is a second year, pre-med, majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Health and Society. She is from the amazing state of Kansas. She's previously served Student Government as a member of the Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention (SAAP) Committee. Ting Ting is a member of the Finance Board and is a Communications Director for The Emergency Fund. She’s currently a member of Leadership Council in Alpha Omicron Pi as the Vice President of Standards. You can also find her making some tasty lattes as a shift lead at eX Libris. Outside of school, Ting Ting volunteers with Howard Brown Health and is an intern at Ascend Justice, a legal advocacy center in Chicago that focuses on the justice system surrounding gender-based violence and child welfare.
